Day 1:
Travel routes where you can enjoy the atmosphere to the fullest by walking, which integrates with the feeling of pleasure and discovery;
  • Goreme Panorama
Göreme town, one of the most popular settlements in our region and surrounded by fairy chimneys, is viewed from the panorama point where the trees are decorated with evil eye beads.
  • Pigeon Valley ( Güvercinlik Vadisi )
Pigeons were bred in pigeon houses carved into rocks to benefit from their manure for use in agriculture. Since pigeon manure is very valuable in terms of the substances it contains and is much more effective than other fertilizers, it has been very important for grape cultivation in the region. The valley offers a beautiful view where you can see the pigeon houses decorated with geometric shapes and the Uçhisar castle.
  • Kaymakli Underground City
Although the exact date of construction is not known, it has been determined by archaeologists that it belongs to the Hittites (2000 BC). It is known that the first floors were used during the Hittites period, but the main part was built by the Christians who escaped from the Roman invasion towards the end of the 3rd century AD. Underground cities used for shelter were built in such a way as to enable them to survive for a short time. It consists of many parts such as dining halls, ventilation shafts, food warehouses, wineries, sitting areas, barns, sliding doors and a church. Kaymaklı underground city is the largest of the underground cities that can be visited in the region. The large stone block that you can see in the kitchen draws attention. There are many holes in different sizes on it. The molten copper was shaped here and used to make the necessary materials for the kitchen.
  • Ihlara Valley
Ihlara region is a region with a perfect view with its deep valleys, streams, lush vegetation and majestic mountains. The Ihlara valley, which is formed by the Melendiz Stream flowing through the tuff roofs, is 100 to 120 meters deep. There are countless shelters, tombs, churches, and hermitage rooms carved into the rocks along the valley. Church decorations in this valley start from the 6th century and go back to the 13th century. It is the best example of nature and human harmony. In addition, unlike the continental climate in the region, the Mediterranean climate is seen here. With this feature, it is a natural microclimate area. Accordingly, various plants, especially pistachios, are grown.
  • Selime Monastery
It is located at the end of the Ihlara Valley. Although there are not many sources about the monastery, it is dated to the 9th and 11th centuries, and the frescoes to the 10th and 11th centuries. It is the largest monastery in the Cappadocia region. It has shelter, winery, church, chapel, cathedral, kitchen, grain warehouses and many other rooms. Judging by the size of the monastery, it can be said that it was built by a noble aristocratic family. It is not known what his real name was, but he got his current name from the tomb of Selime in the cemetery opposite.
